GHI Electronics released a Visual Studio Code extension that provides on-chip source-level debugging for MicroPython over the same USB cable used for programming: breakpoints, stepping, variable inspection and control-flow visibility. It supports several Raspberry Pi Pico variants, ESP32 chips and custom images, though some boards report setup errors, and breakpoints halt all threads.
ArmorPaint 1.0 shipped on September 4 after eight years in early access, rebuilt entirely in C with its own 3D engine, 2D drawing system, and UI.
